What would you consider optimum daily driver that you have no problem using to fill feeders, retrieve deer, etc?
Stuck between the jeep and small 4x4 truck.

Small truck. Easier to load and unload corn, deer and carry a ladder if you need it. Jeep is more fun to hunt out of though.

Seventeen year-old 4X4 Chevy 2500 Extended Cab with 200,000+ miles. Semi-camo paint job as do most of the GM trucks of that generation. Has enough ground clearance to go anywhere. Don't have to worry about scratches from the brush either.

I've had a Jeep. Getting anything in the back was a chore. It was a lot of fun though.
I love my Tacoma crew cab. It goes anywhere I need to go & hauls everything that is necessary. I've even cruised through mud where heavier 4X4 trucks got stuck.

Maybe I'm the only one with a Frontier but I would buy another. It's a crew cab with plenty of room and hasn't let me down yet. (148K)

My 08 Toyota Tundra does double duty and does it all well. Only downside to working your daily driver out in the brush are the South TX pin stripes and the occasional dents/dings.

I use my '07 GMC crew cab 4x4 2500 HD for daily use and all of my hunting, fishing, camping activities.

My '11 1/2 ton z71 is getting it done just fine, as well as my 1 ton dodge did. You dont need some little 4x4 rig to take to the lease. The lease I hunted on for the past 20 years prior to getting our own place we drove nothing but 2wd trucks, and if the property owner hadnt put in speed bumps to stop erosion in the road I could have drove my car.
I have driven my car to our ranch with no issues.

Thats what I am currently doing the problem is the roads aren't great, then secondly if I actually kill something I have to walk back to camp which can be about a mile, get a jeep then go back, then from camp walk out to the gate back to the car so it would just be much easier to have a truck.
75% of our place is fine with a full size 2wd truck but there are a few places that get real interesting/totally impossible without.

Newer long bed taco. Found mine rebuilt/salvage for a bit over 14k. Gets 19-25 on the highway/14-17 city with 33's and is still big/narrow enough to handle most ranch duties.

92 4runner. Use it around the metromess most of the year, send it to Lomo Alto during season. Stick shift, 3" lift, 31" bfg's, a/c, roof rack, corn feeder on back. All you could ever want. Paid $2800 as rigged. Cheaper than a quad, and a heckuva lot warmer.

My old Ford did fine till I needed 4x4 then traded up. As far as I'm concerned you can't beat Ford 4 wd
