We have a gentlemen trapping Axis deer at our place and we had two does jump out of the 8'-3" trap. The game camera caught one of them, its in the top right of the pic.
Back in the mid 90's I looked a corral trap like that one that a man over near Kerrville had. He started with 20-8' tall by 10' long panels like that so he could load them on a trailer and make it portable. It worked good till one day he had it set on a hilltop on a ranch just outside of Kerrville. He was catching axis deer and he set the trap off to close the doors. Said he was sitting downhill and it looked like popcorn coming out of a pot with axis jumping out the 8' tall trap. He then made is panels 10' tallx10' long after that.
Reminds me of the time I saw a buck clear a High fence in Lohn Texas. Well his back feet hit the top wire and sent him somersaulting but he did make it out of the high fence place.
Out of curiosity why are you trapping them? Selling? My grandfather lived in Golden for 10 years back 92-02. Every time I visited him in the summer I'd go fish the cut on 1799.

We had too many on the place and prices for live sale are high so it was good timing.

I bet, especially after so many places lost them last year.
