shooting true pairs through all that smoke might offer a challenge!

If you’re not good enough to be competitive, then make the most fun out of supporting a great group of people doing an amazing service to people with special needs….

Make sure you use real black powder instead of the modern substitutes, Burning Sulphur makes it more challenging for those downwind of you shooting the old smoke poles.

Man what a collection, Snake… that’s very cool! About 15 yrs ago I took my Great Great Grandfathers 1889 10ga hunting on a THF duck/pheasant hunt. I had always wanted to shoot it ever since I was a kid. When it was passed down to me I went and found a company, Republic Metallic Cartridge Company out of Massachusetts, to make me a box of black powder shells for it. Was an awesome feeling taking game with the same old sxs my family had depended on to survive. Seeing the smoke pour out of those 32” barrels is awesome!

That’s such an awesome story! I’m planning on going turkey hunting with one this spring. I’ve never “legally” hunted a turkey (it was a hen many, many years ago with a.22 after sunset on the roost before season by a day and I was 13 so it doesn’t count technically right) so I hope to bag my “first ever” Tom with black powder this year with a 129 year old shotgun…

I'm thinking I need to add a "senior" division for anyone swinging an antique shotty 50 years or older in the event.
