Camera caught the neck shot

Camera caught the neck shot - 12/29/21 08:55 PM

From last week. This was almost exactly 4 minutes after I lung shot another doe at the same feeder (she ran in about 20 yards before she flopped)

Circled the area where you can see the blood path. I have this camera on 15 or 30 second delays between pics, so it was cool for it to catch it. The other doe I hit there was on camera in one frame then gone in another

I big believer in neck shots, particularly this year when we have weeds growing up thigh-high all around the feeders. If they run 20-40 yards out into that stuff, it takes a dog or a really good tracker to find 'em. I shoot 'em in the neck and they drop in their own shadow, and if I can't get a clean neck shot, I pass.
