This Guy Has My Attention/The Return

This is the buck I had posted about having my attention. He received my undivided attention at 5:55 yesterday evening when he strolled in with three other bucks. A high shoulder shot with my new CVA Cascade 7mm-08 with the 139 grain Hornady BTSP load I just worked up for it put him on the ground. (Is that phrase allowed Buzz?) My 67 year old wife and I had no chance of loading him on the back of my truck so I gave the heavy lifting job to my skid steer. That is a 78" bucket he is laying in. He weighed in at 213 lbs. 13 oz. at the processor. Great way to break in a new rifle.

On the hoof. There are bigger deer in many places but we don't see many this big in my part of the world.
