Starting to feel bad. The deer in the photos above is obviously younger (to me anyways). I had a couple of prior photos of a deer with a double drop and I thought that deer looked really old, ancient in fact. A trusted source of mine whom I always defer to, made some remarks about the deer being really old. When I saw this new set of photos at a different blind 880 yards away and noting its youthful appearance, I assumed it was a different animal. After reviewing more photos and especially noting the somewhat palmated mass on the right beam, I now must believe they are of the same deer.

I am limited in the umbers I can take and have better culls to go after. This may well end up being a SIL trophy.

I don’t know what SIL means but you may consider hunting him as a Trophy if he is deemed plenty old. I know you may have much bigger but you may never have one prettier. Overall shape, proportion, drops, cape etc would all make him a nice piece of art for the wall. Of course, by the time you FINALLY get down there he may be broke up or trampled in a bovine stampede.
