Pig x 2

Pig x 2 - 08/01/21 10:38 PM

I’ve had to move my camp at our lease and haven’t hunted in 3 months. Finally took some time to hunt last night. Sat for 45 minutes and saw 4 deer and these two hogs. Told my wife I would end the hunt at 8:15 so we could eat dinner. At 8:16I closed the blind windows and started to stand up when these two walked out. Shot the big one first and the smaller boat started to run and I center punched him. I was surprised the smaller one dropped and I finished him with a follow up shot. I put a another round into the big one to ensure he wasn’t going anywhere. Not sure what the bigger pig weighed, but he hasn’t missed any meals.

Temps dropped quite a bit which made it pleasant and the sunset was really nice too.

PSA 6.8 with a lightweight A2 barrel and a PSA lower, POF 3.5# trigger, GemTech suppressor and Hornady 120 SSTs. When I bought the upper from PSA I wasn’t sold on the 6.8 and didn’t want to invest a bunch of money. Not only has the 6.8 caliber exceeded my expectations, but the upper from PSA has too. I’ve thought about upgrading the rifle, but the old adage of “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” applies in the case, so I’m not changing anything.

Nice shooting. I need to get back to my place since a few new ones have started showing up on camera.
