Sam Houston Museum Stuff - 04/19/21 08:27 PM
In honor of the upcoming anniversary of the Battle of San Jacinto, we visited the Sam Houston museum in Huntsville. It did not disappoint. In addition to the great museum, the grounds have 11 or 12 homes and/or buildings related to Houston and early Texas. A few highlights:
Santa Anna’s saddle, sword, and other items captured in the battle:

Houston’s Law Office outside his Huntsville home:
Houston’s hunting camp house that was located on the river. Note the “dog run” construction. There were still a few of these around and occupied by some old folks back in east TX when I was a child:
