FISHIN WAAAAAY UP THE CREEK TODAY

Needed to get some shots for a product catalog and it needed to be “scenic” so I knew just the place. After a 1.5 mile hike we arrived at the location. Water was very swift but the fish were on fire. Best of all we didn’t get started until 12:30 in the afternoon. I easily caught 75 fish in 3 hours and decided to bring home about a dozen for the fryer. Swift water fishin is to much dang fun!!!

Ah yes.....looks like the same place I spent a great deal of time during my youth...and yes...love the swift water sandies... Great pics!

All the ones I cleaned were males and I am sure all the ones I threw back were males also.

I went to the same spot again today for about 1.5 hours because I had a couple more baits I needed to give a test run. It was pretty much every cast but once again all males but did manage 3 more small Hybrids. We had a major push of females about 10 days ago in this spot and without another good rain pretty soon I think the peak of the run may be behind us now. If another wave of females doesnt show up in the next week I am going to turn my attention to Crappie.

Great times for sure. Been a while but I have had some fun for sandbass this time of year with the flyrod and streamers.
