Trans Pecos snow - 12/20/20 08:22 PM
Was hunting mule deer on our lease when we got a rare snowfall during the season. All I had was my cell phone so the pics are not that great. The deer were held up in thick cover and had to drive on top of them to even get them to stand up. Did see a few bucks that day but only one was decent...4 yr old looking 5x5. Rest were younger. We expected the deer to be bedded till it stopped snowing and it was as expected.
Progression of the snow that morning starting at 7:40 till 10:30 on Dec. 5th. It snowed up to 3" on about 2/3's of the ranch and rest just got sleet/rain. Low as 33 that morning and high was 37. Was really my first time to hunt mule deer in a Texas snow so it was different.
