Two pigs down - 12/15/20 01:06 AM
Walked in to change camera batteries and checked the feeder with my thermal. There was a huge blob under the feeder, but I couldn’t tell what it was and nothing was moving. I made a kissing sound like when trying to stop coyotes and the sleeping sounder of pigs exploded from under the feeder. Pigs scattered in every direction, but little spotted stopped facing away. Not my normal shot preference, but he took one in the backside and went down but needed a follow up.
Second pig was a lot bigger than I thought he was, but he just showed up a the wrong time and wrong place. This is my second hog with the new Tikka 270. Shot him quartering towards me through the neck and the bullet exited behind the off side shoulder. I haven’t worked on my hand loads yet, but the cheap Federal 150 Power Shok is doing the job. Pig was DRT and didn’t hardly flop at all.
