Age on Llano 8 point - 11/29/20 02:18 AM

I had this 8 point chasing a doe pretty hard this morning. Seems the rut has begun in Llano. Wanted to get you guys opinion on age. Thanks in advance.

Younger, 2.5-3.5, good genetics. Could be really nice if makes another 2-3 years

3.5 year old, could be a very nice buck if he gets a pass.

Thanks for all the feedback. He definitely got a pass and will for a couple years if he stays on our ranch.

B weezy - just a few miles east of town.

No way I see a 2.5 year old here.
He is 3.5 and could be 4.5.
Way to thick up front for a 2.5 year old and a lot more hock staining then any 2.5 year old I've seen

Classic 3 year old traits. Chest is deepening. Belly angles up. Still long legged. Looks like a race horse.

Im glad Iluv chimed in. I was thinking the same as him but all the comments had me talked out of it. Dont get me wrong, he definitely looks young but so much hock stainage and it is Llano so I thought maybe 4. But everything else to me looks 3. Its been a long time since I spent any time in the Hill Country(hunting) but on a lot of places he would be shaping up to be nice.

I’ve got him at 4.5 and loosing weight quick. I’ve hunted castell for long time and seldom see bucks with that much staining at 3.5, and never 2.5

Atleast that’s my opinion on video.

I'll go high end of what I initially said, 3.5-4.0+ after 2nd glance of the video. He's been running pretty good, skinny and again it's northern hill country...He'll be something good next year or next.
