Bald Eagle - Our National Bird Symbol - 09/26/20 02:31 PM

My wife & I like to have "truck picnics" during covid, and one of our favorite spots is the Hag(Hagerman NWR). In April, as we were feasting on world famous, award winning ribs from Cackle & Oink in Sherman, we were treated to a rare sight for us, a mature bald eagle fishing. Wished I had a faster operating camera to shoot the sequence of her catching a crappie, but was able to get a few pics of her in the air. I can see why it was chosen as the national bird - majestic beauty, great strength & long life. Long live the eagle & our freedom!

Thanks for posting, love watching them when I get the chance.

It has been years ago but watched one get a bass while I was fishing and they were not biting for us. Just glad she got a fish. There was a nest at the back end of that lake. Another day saw one get a Canada goose at the same lake, probably same eagle or it's mate

Beautiful pictures. My absolute favorite bird in the wild, definitely a majestic sight. So spooky and difficult to get close to and get decent pictures!!!

Excellent pictures. I see a bald eagle about once a year near my brothers place in Menard County.
I have always enjoyed my trips to Alaska, they are all over up there.

Great pictures! I know in some parts of the US they are more common but I was able to see my first wild bald eagle on my own property. I won't ever forget that day.

Ive only ever seen one.

Boss lady took a vacation to alaska brought back some photos/videos of bald eagles. She said locally they are seen as scavengers on the same level as buzzards or kara kara's in south texas.

Nice photos. I see them all the time where we hunt in OK. Maybe I'll have to take my wife's camera and try to get some pics this year.
