I went through about a ten year period where I kept as many as 40 at a time but non-venomous only although I probably captured as many as 100 to 110 copperheads during that time on our 3.5 acre homestead. Actually girls were always the most interested in them when I would show school classes the reptiles.

Oh heck no, just can't do it. Have a friend that will even go pick up rattlesnakes and cut their heads off with a pocketknife...NUTS!

I wish I had more bull snakes and a few indigos to take care of our bad problem with rattlesnakes these last couple years.
Son got another a couple nights ago and I believe that makes 10 for the year and at least 9 last year.

Cool snake. My brother and I spent a summer taking a class on snakes (herpetology) when we were teens. My poor mother. We had what we called the snake room. Imagine a 13ft albino Burmese python that layed 100 eggs. Lets just say we learned a good lesson and donated the snakes to the class.

I was stepping down from the stand a couple weeks ago when something caught my eye. In a flash some kind of snake, probably 5ft long, came flying by from across the dirt road passing the bottom steps right in front of me. He was in the brush behind the blind so fast I had no time to react. My heart was racing!

So was he.....
