another pig!! - 08/27/20 08:42 PM
some of y’all were asking about the other pigs, i usually don’t shoot more than one when we go shoot because where we hunt it’s pretty limited so i’ll shoot the bigs of the heard and just make sure it’s a kill shot and not to injury and and let them get away. here’s another one from the other night.

Keep killin'em! They will overrun your place faster than you think. Killing one at a time won't hurt the population. You can take that to the bank. And if you do make a dent in the population, new ones will move in in no time. They can reproduce every 6 months with litters of 6 - 12 piglets on average. I kill as many as I can every opportunity I get and it is like going up a down escalator.
As your Dad has probably told you, there are only two kinds of ranches in Texas, those with hogs and those that are going to get them. Welcome and good shootin'!

yessir. i used to trap and that did the job of getting rid of them. they’re slowly moving back in and we have figured out their more fun to hunt rather than trap and load into a trailer.

Nice! How do you like that Flir? Same one I use, but I’ve been having some issues with it lately going black right in the middle of shooting

If you do not kill them with the first one just shoot them again. That is not frowned upon. That is a good shot placement though.
Smoke ‘em if you got ‘em......
Fantastic shot placement and trigger control in both pics....well done ma’am!

I think you're ready for a "double" with that rifle. Excellent work young lady.

Welcome to THF lillygrace. Always glad to see the youth and ladies onboard. Have you tried the hams and backstrap of a medium sow? They can be removed with out gutting, but always wear glove and watch for ticks.
Here is a health warning just in case. They are excellent table fare.

Start setting some snares, that's fun too.
