Remote Game Camera - 07/04/20 03:53 AM

Attached is a picture from my Moultrie REmote Game Camera. The picture was transmitted from my ranch in Del Rio to my home home in Bandera (150 miles) This is a low resolution picture, but I am happy with the cameras performance. System utilizes AT&T.

Hey DH3, tell me about the cost/fees associated with that system. I have an AT&T account with unlimited long distance and text. Would I need more?

You have everything you need. I got my camera from Academy when they put them on sale for less than $100.
You must get one that is set up for AT&T.
You set it up at home and take a few pictures of yourself to see if it is working O.K.
You need to put it in a location that can be reached from a cell tower (use your phone to test the strength on site.
Several different plans with # of pics, definition, etc. etc.
I am not a "teccie" but this was pretty EZ to do.

Is there a monthly fee through AT&T for the camera since it is a separate device, or will it automatically pair to my AT&T phone on its plan?

Re: Remote Game Camera - 07/13/20 07:52 PM

I went cheap on the plan ($15.00 a month for 300 pictures). Sorry, I have not received a bill from Moultrie or AT&T so I can't answer your question at this time.
FWIW, the camera quit working today, Moultrie's analysis is a battery issue. I have read elsewhere that this type of camera is a battery eater and it takes 12 AA's.
Headed to the ranch this week to fix the problem....

Yup, it takes a bit of power to run the cell-radio - you definitely need an external rechargeable battery with solar charger on it, just for the camera!
