9 years ago this month, the Oasis Wildfire started on our place in Kimble Co. That year the Hill Country and most of the state was in a massive drought. A small storm brought lightning that struck a juniper tree and it was on like, well, wildfire. My in-laws just happened to be there and were sitting on the porch when they saw smoke down at the pasture and they were able to take some pictures before they had to evacuate.

When you get a chance you should take some pictures in the same locations. I'd love to see what it looks like now.

Yes they were!
Several in SHNF and one on our county line that burned 19,00 acres, Riley Road fire I think they called it...

That's scary. I bet when that fire got really hot the cedars basically burst into flames. Makes you wonder how they ever put it out
