Is that natural color or are you using a filter? Awesome shot...
Thanks. I didn't use a filter last night.
I always shoot in manual mode so if I'm shooting video and stills during daylight, then I always select a filter based on light conditions. It gives me much more control of the outcome. Near sunset, using a filter gets tricky as conditions change so fast. There is really only a minute or so when the conditions are just right at sunset for the still shots I'm usually after and a filter can further limit the available time.
Yesterday as sunset approached, conditions were shaping up for a nice shot. I decided to fly without a filter because it was late and I thought I was going to shoot toward the east. I usually find I don't need a filter at sunset when shooting towards the east.
The clouds in the eastern sky dissipated too much before I could launch so I ended up shooting clouds in the southern sky. Because of the haze in the DFW area, the shot would have been better with a filter facing that direction but it came out OK. I process in Lightroom and or Photoshop so when I need to, I can pull out some haze.
