Absolutely Epic Honeymoon Hunt in New Zealand - 03/11/20 08:01 AM
Just returned from our 12 day honeymoon in New Zealand! Absolutely epic hunt with my wife by my side through every minute! We hunted 60% of the time and did the tourist/shopping 40%. Lots of travel time in the plane but was budget friendly and painless! Brought the horns home with me for $135 per set and tanned hides will return in a few months.
Stag scores 525” and was taken with a suppressed .308 while laying prone on a 45 degree rock overlooking the bottom of a drain taking 8 steps before falling over dead.
Bull was taken at 45 yards with a Mathews bow after an absolutely spectacular 3 day hunt in rugged country.
Spotted fallow was a fun 2 day hunt where we ended up finding him bedded in the most rouged section of the ranch. Was prone for 3 hours staring at the sun the whole time. Right before dark he stood up facing us and I sent it at 301 yards full frontal and hit him dead center of the chest folding him on his bed!
Spotted this fallow glassing and couldn’t pass him up at 445 yards where he to fell in his bed
