Last Hunt of 2019

Headed up to the camp late on the 30th to hunt new years eve with my youngest son who was home for the holidays. He still had a tag whereas I have been tagged out for a while but was happy to party hunt on his tag (Legal in these parts).

We headed out for the morning hunt - him to one of the food plots and me to an apple tree that remarkably still has some apples on it. Neither of us saw anything for the morning hunt so i decided to leave the deer hunting to him and switch to ruffies (and because sitting on the ground for 4 hours freezing just hurts - guess i'm getting oldish).

So the afternoon of the 31st passed and my son was shutout on deer. I on the other hand had a stellar afternoon and managed a limit of ruffies with the last one taken with 11 minutes left in the season (season closed at last light on the 31st). Heading out for ruffies:

Followed the hunt with bacon bbq ruffie and whiskey by the wood stove - life doe not get much better.
