Chad's ammo gets it done - 11/28/19 02:28 PM
My son and I were hunting the ridge that we call nature 200. It is completely inaccessible by truck or 4 wheeler. 45 minute hike to our hunting spot. Very few guys hunt there due to the drag after the kill. My son had missed a Buck the night before, so it was my turn to shoot. We started rattling around 8:30. I was rattling while Chay was thrashing the leaves and stomping the ground trying to make as much noise as possible. I hit the grunt tube twice then we settled in and got quiet. Less than 10 mins later this guy comes in on a rope. I only had a very small window to thread my shot through, and actually had to shoot through a leaf that was covering up my point of aim. Chad's .270 ammo loaded with 130 gr accubond dropped him where he stood. We drug him for 30 minutes before we left and got help. It took my whole family to drag him the rest of the way across the creek and out up the last ridge. Sure is nice having a 15 year old hoss for a nephew!
