Last Minute Doe! - 10/21/19 05:31 PM
The last 20 min of light on my last day bowhunting and something kept telling me to leave my stand because they were going to come from the down wind direction. So, I packed up and headed to the north end of the cotton field. As I peeked down the hedge row, 3 does had caught my movement and were full alert 100 yards out. I eased back into the brush and hugged up behind a small cedar tree and grunted. All 3 started my way and 2 came straight in to 30 yards but were behind the tall grass. Doe number 3 started to loop out to catch my wind and I stopped her right at 50 yards, settled my pin, and squeezed. The Lumenock darting across the field and finding it's mark was beautiful!!! She made it maybe 70 yards and pilled up. Busted rib cage, through the heart, liver, and busted out the ribs on the opposite side! Had her dressed and loaded 20 min after the shot "was 87 degrees yesterday"
