Public land mule deer - 10/20/19 11:45 PM

Far from my biggest buck but 2 weeks away from turning 60 I was not going to let him pass, especially with a muzzleloader. Caught him sneaking down a brush choked draw and waited for the right shot. Got him broadside @ 65 yards. He went 15 yards after the shot. Used my older Knight muzzleloader with T/C shockwave bullets 100 grains of 777.

Unit 32 west of Roswell. Not a lot of deer this was the only one I saw all day.

It only takes one...they seem to get sweeter as we get older...I always wonder...is this my last buck...will I ever get another one that makes it to my "all time best deer"...I didn't even have the biggest one mounted...and now there are several others that I think of as my "best"...Congrats on a very respectable Public Land Buck...every one of them is a trophy, no matter the size of the rack!
