Youngster.

We've all seem them take a rear hoof and scratch behind their ears, stuff like that...but I didn't think they were flexible enough to lick the middle of their own back.

Great video!

The older they get the tougher it gets so some use their "props" to scratch their itch.

Those are great photos. I've seen Elk do that often....but haven't witnessed deer doing that before. Pretty cool.

I keep a 21" spike from a Gemsbok on my desk as a back scratcher, pretty handy.
