SURPRISE IN MY TREE

I was checking my ladder stand to make sure the straps and everything were ok and my brother spots this guy in the same tree out on a limb.

Kill 'em all.

Exactly what I thought. Then I saw 'Porcky'. My FILs dog caught one in the back yard. It wasn't pretty.

That is camo from the old armrests that used to be on it.

Better than climbing up on your stand and having a bobcat in the same tree above your head. This happened to a buddy when bow hunting.

I've never seen one in the U.S. Saw an African version in South Africa and brought home a couple of the quills. Big!

I was climbing around in a small cave when I came across on of them pokey guys, he was less than a foot from my face. He just slowed turned around and puffed up.
Scared me pretty good.

Ive seen more of those guys this year than I have in a long time.

I hate those damn things. I think I have made my vet's truck payment for the last two years. Last episode 740 quills in him. Verified new record!! There are more of them no doubt.

Another one Easter morning. We were getting ready to leave for church and the dogs had something treed about a 100 yards from the house. Shot him out of the tree. When I shot, old Rabbit was looking at me when the porcupine fell out of the tree and fell on his head. Another trip to the vet.

OUCH

I hate those dang things.......Poor Puppies.
