Huntsville Whitetails

Huntsville Whitetails - 08/30/19 09:05 PM

Yesterday I had the opportunity to visit a friend of mine’s ranch in Huntsville (ranch is Huntsville Whitetails). He has some impressive deer, and I was fortunate to get some excellent pics. Here are just a few of the highlights (I took over 800 photos yesterday). Yes, it is a high fenced ranch, so if that’s not your cup of tea, feel free to just keep it to yourself.

I hope you guys enjoy....

pretty much the only bucks in Walker county other than spikes and 6ers

What D Rogers said.

I grew up down there and I saw very few monsters taken in Walker County. I am surprised the bucks in the photos don't have ear tags lol.

heheh I was only playin around, but there is definitely truth in what you said. Until recently there were very very few large bucks being taken in Walker county. The quality of deer taken there now is a testament to antler restrictions. Growin up hunting the big woods, if you saw a buck that wasnt still lookin for mommas tit, you shot it. I would hunt all season and see nothing bigger than a 6 pt.

Truth.

Throughout the 80s and 90s Walker County was 1 Buck, Doe by permit only. Any buck, regardless of size, age, or quality, got shot. IMO/IME Antler Restrictions have certainly helped Walker and surrounding counties in regards to better quality deer.

To stay on thread, those are nice bucks in the photos. Watch out for poachers.
