Man, that lizard is a toad. I found one about that size that had crawled up on a wild boar I shot that took a while to find. I thought hey, maybe he'd make a good tracking lizard...
With all due respect to yellowlegs id, your bird might just be an upland sandpiper. I see them every September while dove hunting.

As many ponds and big ponds as we have I'm surprised I've never seen one before. We have a ton of ducks, Sandhill's, sea gulls, and pelicans that roost and visit the ponds, even have the occasional Canadian and Snow show up.
