That's a piece of 4 1/2 inch drill pipe the lizards on, he's a toad. Haven't identified the bird yet, it was a half mile from water. Got 1 shot and it noisily left.

Man, that lizard is a toad. I found one about that size that had crawled up on a wild boar I shot that took a while to find. I thought hey, maybe he'd make a good tracking lizard... smile

With all due respect to yellowlegs id, your bird might just be an upland sandpiper. I see them every September while dove hunting.

Sandpiper was my first thought too. Bill shape and coloration.

Yep! The call it makes is exactly the same. Like I said it left noisily. As many ponds and big ponds as we have I'm surprised I've never seen one before. We have a ton of ducks, Sandhill's, sea gulls, and pelicans that roost and visit the ponds, even have the occasional Canadian and Snow show up.

The funny thing is I've never seen one at a pond, always out in a field. Usually see several together, and they all make that noise when flying away.

Found the pick of my hog tracking lizard.

It appears they are 2 different species 1 is Texas Blue Spiny Lizard or Sceloporus serrifer

Yours looks to be Texas Spiny Lizard or Sceloporus olivaceus
