4.5 year old. Not much of a belly and more neck muscle than a 3.5 year old and not as much as I would see on a 5.5 year old. You just never really know. I shot one last year I swore was a 5.5 year old to find out it was a 3.5 year old.

Immediately thought 4ish from initial pics (last year's), but the subsequent pics (this year) made me second guess myself. It is summer though.

I see mature in the first pic and maturer in the last pic. grin It is very difficult to age from one pic and then even more difficult to try to age from a photo of a computer screen of a TC pic.

Re: Age this buck - 07/27/19 11:07 PM

yeah I have learned my lesson from aging off of a still camera pic or one that is a pic of a pic. We go to video on our cameras the last month before the season starts so we can see the buck walking and moving. I have seen 100s of thousands of still camera pics and have called the same deer a 3 year old and then a 6 year old. Set your cameras on video if you really want to age them IMO

Agree completely, tlk. Even though I still wade into the age discussions this time of year. Almost impossible to be wrong roflmao

We're going to try your video suggestion in about a month. Thx for sharing that. We'll let you know how it works out. cowboy
