Texoma striper fishing

Texoma striper fishing - 07/22/19 08:40 PM

Just got back to the house we were on the water this morning at 6am and didn’t head back to the dock until one. We didn’t catch a lot of box fish but we caught 15 over 21” so we could only keep four of them. Then we caught about ten box fish. I think we caught four drum and probably twenty small channel cats. Was a heck of a day for nice size striper.

Ok!! Did you use a cast net to catch the live shad yourself?

We went with a guide so he used a cast net early that morning and caught a whole bunch. I just had the luxury of doing the catching. We used mark bannister on a recommendation from here and with with his guy Dylan. It was a great trip and I highly recommend them.

Mark is good friends with my son in law. He's a 2nd generation Texoma striper guide and from what I can tell, a good kid and good fisherman too.

so, there was enough shad in Texoma to cast net? Maybe the "bait" fish are coming back.

looks like a great time Walter and Wifie

Great haul Walter, from the evidence submitted, it appears you where out fished grin

It is odd up there when you are trying to get out of big fish to fill the box, but fun problem to have.
