Not really sure sir. We were there over Thanksgiving week, a few weeks after the pic and saw these deer. The old guy was the first to the feeder pen and was there probably 45 minutes alone. This young 8 showed up with a similar size and aged 9. The young 9 jumped in the pen and the old guy left immediately but not hastily. I suspect the same scenario was played out this day except the young 9 was out of the pic because that looks like the 8.
The mature 9 looks much older in person than he does in this pic. I really think he is 6 or 7 YO. I got to watch him again the last day we were there for about 30-45 minutes before the cows showed up. It was really neat to watch the old man's demeanor compared to the younger ones. Much like a confident older gentleman compared to a cocky young kid
