This blew in from west about 5 hours ago, just now got power back on.

Saw a few of those when we lived out there in the 70's, can't say I miss them. Nice pictures, thanks for sharing.

We went from daylight to pitch black in less than a minute, allot of wind damage.

That is mean and ugly looking. Almost looks like a red dirt tornado.

It was just like that up here in Lubbock too. That was a heck of a wall of dust.

my folks lived through the dust bowl, my dad told that it would get so dark the chickens would go to roost.

I experienced that in El Paso once. I ducked into a mall until it passed.

When it is coming toward you, it looks biblical.

I do not miss those days. The most memorable one was at Fort Bliss we were on the rifle range when one of those sandstorms hit. We rode it out inside of the busses.

Thanks HWY. Reminds me of growing up out here.
Farming practices have helped to mitigate but these are always possible ( Gust Fronts ).

Those have to be experienced to really appreciate just how massive and overwhelming they are..... 2cents
