Wonder if it's a pet? I had one that hung around with my ducks for two years, and then one day, it flew off. You could almost pet it, but it would never fly away, just walk away, or swim away. I also had an Egyptian goose show up for about a month.

There used to be one on a local pond, he and the white domesticated ones were always together. One of our local places that we go to about once a week, he was a local, then one day he wasn't there. Big homeless camp in the woods to the west of this place, we figured he was lunch and dinner for them.

Pretty cool having one around. Occasionally see one around New Braunfels.

My parents live in Strawn and have them come in every year. They have been coming in for at least the last 4-5 years. Most they have ever had was around 20-30 at one time. We have seen a few pairs have little ones and they would come up in the yard and eat the corn my parents would throw out for them.
