My first thoughts as well. If he is like that on both sides that would be crazy cool but my guess is its a result of missing or damaged grinder on just that one side.

I know that taxidermist pull tusks out some to make a more impressive mount.
Could not imagine doing that to this one.
He is truly impressive as is.

Probably too late if he didnt cape it but they make a pretty cool mount. I had this dude mounted that my nephew shot on my place. They replicated the tusk for the mount and I let my nephew keep the skull with the original tusk.
