Looks like a coyote, and I think pigs are the reason most people use feed pens. Some people have to because of cattle as well.

We don't have hogs, nor use feed pens. Coyotes? We have them, but a pen is not going to keep a coyote out.

DC not saying it has never happened but I have never seen a pic of a Yote in my pen or pics on here? So your saying that a coyote will jump over hog panels if they really want something inside of it. I guess a 34" jump is not to high just never seen it.

Our lease has sheep. Therefore we have pens

Man, I guess the legs and ears gave it away for being a coyote. Thats a hefty one for sure. But 3 deer inside pen and coyote outside is still a good reason to have a pen. I am sure the coyote could jump, but as stub said, have not ever seen one inside a pen. My guess is he ate the rabbit that been frequenting the feeder.

Surprised no one has suggested a fawn.

About the right size, would make sense given the other deer there. And about this time they aren’t attached to mama as much.

Just don’t see much tail to say yote. But that is a possibility as well
