73 Bronco

73 Bronco - 10/01/18 11:54 PM

I got this from a lady down the street in 2009. After a lot of work I took it on a 500 mile round trip to the lease this past weekend. It was our first trip out of the big city and she did great. It really made me slow down and enjoy the trip in a new way.

My wife and I have been looking for a Gen 1 Bronco or Blazer. I’m jealous even though I can’t see it

Get to work on posting pictures man!

My dad's pristine '67 is dry rotting in my brother's barn right now. bang 'Never could figure out why. Every time I see a gen 1 it's like a knife in my heart. But, they all take continual love and attention.

I use to share a lot of pics but it’s just to hard now. I thought I had it figured out and it loaded them like it would work.

If anyone wants to post them I will email them to you

I had a 69 bronco a couple decades ago and lost it when I was going up a ridge and the transfer case popped out of gear. I couldn't get it back into gear, and the brakes locked up the tires, but I was already sliding backwards, so it just kept sliding until I jumped out at it went over a cliff.

One guy that I told this story too just about passed out. Same thing happened to him, except his wife and daughter didn't make it out. Only he survived. Pretty much the same identical thing happened to him.

I have no idea how common this is, but I did read somewhere that its common enough that some people have a wire that hooks onto the transfer case lever to keep it in gear.

Now that’s a truck. That is one that Ford got right. Why they don’t do a retro model is beyond me. It would sell like crazy. I drool every time I see one that has the love and attention that this one has.

Re: 73 Bronco - 10/04/18 01:45 PM

I'm glad y'all like it as much as I do. I begged a lady down the street for 3 years, her husband had passed away and she said she would never sell it. One day I was driving down the street and she waived me down and said...."I'm moving to CT and will sell you the Bronco" I about passed out. The paint and everything is original except I had the white top and wheels repainted.

I wouldn't trust that guy behind the wheel in the cattle guard picture though. grin
