nap time

there were two or three others on the brush pile but they slipped into the water before I could take the picture.

That is the same kind of snake we saw on our place. Is it a banded water snake?

I think it is. though he doesn't look like the banded water snakes I'm used to seeing around here.

I think it is. though he doesn't look like the banded water snakes I'm used to seeing around here.


Looks like a diamond back water snake.. chain link pattern.. cant see the face, but water snakes also have vertical lines on the lower jaw.
