check out the tines - taking age guesses

hope this guy sticks around for a few years. Anyone care to give an age guess .

My guess is he is a little fluffed up due to the cold, but this buck is post rut and looking big still...

My guess is 4.5 based on the size of him at this time of year. If he were three I would think he would look a little more lean. But his rump is full, thicker shoulders, and decently balanced body...

My opinion only...

About November he will be ready for the processor.

I agree 4.5. I think at 5.5 he would have more belly, and his rump and shoulders would blend in more with his mid-section, probably a fuller brisket.

2 or 3 yr old max and I lean more towards a 2 yr old. Fluffed up hair coat and post rut makes it difficult to age him from those pics. Couple of pics he looks 2 and other pic he looks 3. If he was older his hocks would be stained much more than they are for that time of the year. Hard to tell but he also looks in pretty good body condition which would indicate a younger buck to me also.

The neck throws me off. Thinking 2 yrs old myself.

I would guess 3.

Hard to gauge the neck from those angles but I think 2.5 - 3.5

I would call him 3.

If he's still a 6 next season make sausage unless you want to let him become a trophy 6.
