A very special doe

A very special doe - 01/29/18 05:10 PM

Friday evening I had the whole family in the blind with me. The kids (4 and 6) spooked a few deer off early while they got the wiggles and talking out. But, about 20 min before dark I managed to take a doe, the first with them with me. This connected one more dot with them on where our meat comes from. Lifetime memory.

Later in the weekend my boy got some great practice in with his BB gun. Then, I got to finish my last hunt of the season Sunday am watching a a couple nice 8-pts and having some laughs with a good friend. Great trip, so blessed.

Tell that boy to sit on that back foot and put his elbow on the front knee and he’ll get a lot better results.

Thanks Don. A few years back I bit the bullet and bought/built a blind big enough to fit the whole family. Turns out if they are warm and comfortable they like to sit longer!

No, he's right. He just got his BB gun last month, still have to remind him how to mount it to his shoulder correctly. That's why he looks like he's leaned over in that pic, has it too low.

Roger that. Right now we're working on safety fundamentals, and making it fun. The finer points will come later. up
