Every now and then you get that opportunity to make a dream come true. Gary, a local area resident for many years I met a few months back while leaving the ranch as he was trying to get a peek at some of the large buck he heard were on the ranch from another local cattlerancher. We talked over the weeks ahead and and tried to find a good time when he had his strenght between his chemo treatments. We updated him regularly which helped lift his spirits with different 200 class bucks. When yesterday finally arrived with a better forecast to finally be above freezing we set out for an afternoon sitting. We saw great bucks in all trophy classes, for him it was like a parade of eye candy. The deer were still chasing some but for the most part they were just on the move. One buck in the photos I had been sending him stood out that had not showed although we had already seen 4 good animals. At about 4:45pm the Buck came through the woods and did not disappoint. Gary wanted mass with width. With a few minutes of waiting the brute finally presented a perfect broadside shot at 120yds. and the Henry 45/70 sounded out with the fatal blow. This day couldn't have been more perfect, a beautiful 202" with 8 2/8" & 8" bases giant of a buck was at our feet. Please enjoy the pic. #standup2cancer
