Mom and daughter needed girl time so I decided I’d bring my 3 y/o to the lease with me. He got a new pair of cowboy boots and was excited to wear them. The excitement lasted a good 5 minutes into the drive and he was out, obviously getting rested up for the evening hunt. As soon as we got into the gate, I woke him up to tell him we were at the deer lease. He wakes up, rubs his eyes and ask “where’s the deer at”? I explained to him that he was gonna have to whisper and maybe we’d see something. At 5:00pm, the light fades and he says “Daddy, it’s getting dark, time to go home now”. Overall he did well, other than dropping his juice and binoculars and trying to convince me to let him shoot my Ar-15. Ive taken my daughter to the stand several times but she has no interest in killing anything. He on the other hand, asked if we could shoot anything we saw. Well we didn’t see any deer or hogs but it was nice being able to take him with me for his first trip.
