"Little" Buddy's First Hog - 12/18/17 08:26 PM
Ok, there is some truth to this caption. It is my buddy's first hog but there is nothing "Little" about him . He has played a little Offensive Tackle in his time LOL.
At this point of the season we are in fun times. A little doe patrol. Pig snipes. Safari hunts. Varmit calling etc. etc. Well Cody had a new toy with him at the lease this weekend, a Howa 22.250. Now I'm a bow hunter and a ballistic idiot but I know when a gun is sighted in well and he had this thing putting same hole groups together at 100 yards off the tailgate of the truck. He went out Saturday with the intention to neck shoot a doe. Well the first one in was absolutely no problem and a 100 yard DRT was made. So he texts....what about a hog with this thing? I said IDK...ask me a bow hunting question...pretty small bullet but if you put it in their ear it shouldn't be a problem at all. Obviously he heeded my advice .
We have killed some pretty big pigs on our place but this is really one of the biggest killed. For scale Cody is 6'3" and goes about 265#. Not sure how much this pig weighed but I would have to guess ~250. Any of you hog experts please give your opinion.
