Biggest deer I've ever seen

This is a real freak nasty. My BIL's best friend bagged this one on a HF in Missouri last year. Not my style but what a stud.

Not my cup of tea.....but glad people grow them for guys that like 'em!

Can you imagine the amount of timber he destroyed getting all of the velvet off!

With lots of tape, couple of sharp pencils, plenty of time and a lot of paper

I didn't ask but I'm sure it's somewhere in that ballpark (maybe closer to $15K)

Now for someone like me who has no knowledge about deer and antlers, how does a deer like that become like that.
Is it a natural freak?

is there another method to get those antlers like that.

Most likely high-fence bred with generations of careful management, protein program, and good feed. Genetics, environment, and carefully managed culling.

It's called genetics, management, food, age and a high fence that surrounds the place. The guides take you out and tells you what you can and cannot shoot and what it will cost you. Not my idea of hunting but it is legal. And BTW, since it is a HF (high fence, meaning the deer can't get out) and put the slip on you, no matter what it scores it DOES NOT go in the normal record book. Just not my style and don't agree with it, but make no mistake about it, there are a lot of Rambos out there with plenty of money and then come home and brag about it. Multi million dollar business....... it's a business, not real hunting in my opinion.

Not mine. Friend of a friend. I'm partial to the mature LF variety but I don't begrudge anyone for their preferences.

Hey I am not a big fan of high fence hunting but I understand wanting to grow bigger bucks. Where I hunt if you see a good deer you better take him because someone else will. We stated a property coop years ago so all of the landowners in the area are on board but we catch poachers in the area from time to time.

Big Freak Nasty Buck!

I was at the taxidermist this morning. He was working on a HF buck sorta like that one. He said he has to repair the holes in the ears where the ears tags were.

Not my cup of tea, even if I was filthy rich I wouldn't even consider HF
