2 hit listers showed up on camera (low fence)

Ranch is in Frio county, we've leased it out for years and the hunters had ran all over the place with their jeeps and atv's. We thought it would take a couple years until the smart bucks would come around...after a couple months of rest, these boys showed up on camera!

What do yall think? a double drop and big dark 8 (that 8 looks OLD!). This is 600 acres low fence no protein, good ol' south tx.

I think the 8 would go 155", not sure about the double drop..first one I've ever seen. What do yall think they'd score? I did find the double drops sheds this year while shredding.

do you have some more pics of each? looks like I see 3 drops on that 2nd one, no? that 8 is a beast but not sure I see 155 from that one pic...

I was really generous and got 151 on the 8. I suspect <150 on the ground.

I don't think 150's on that 8, but I'm definitely no pro and that's not a great picture to score by.

Tough choice. Wish it were mine to make.

I initially thought he had a third drop tine, too, but I think that what looks like the second drop on the right antler is actually a tree branch in the background. Regardless, those are two very good bucks.

I would be happy with either one... or even that nice looking turkey in the picture

No way that 8 makes 155. 130, IMO. Still a very nice deer.

I say the first(BANG) one that walks out.

That old 8 is going to be in the mid to upper 140's. He has a lot of mass. It is difficult to tell his main beam lengths but I think they are long enough with the mass to be a solid 40s buck. Just my 2 cents....

Awesome bucks. I would shoot the 8 as he is in his prime. I would let the drop tine get another year on him.

Maybe not 155, but a lot more than 130 IMO. He will go into the 40s easily.

This buck goes 141. With a tight tape. Just over 21" wide, 12 3/4" longest g2. This buck dwarfs that one.

edit: I'd still shoot the 8pt and hope the drop tine made it another year.

I hate to burst your bubble but that buck in no way dwarfs that 8 point.

Just a totally different frame that's all. The ops 8 has more mass and much longer G3s.

Not trying to knock your 8, it's a nice one.

Great deer! I'd shoot either one but I'm a big fan of solid 8s. Don't think he'll break 150 but he will probably make low 40s due to his great mass and g3s. Both are excellent deer and trophies. Best of luck!
