I would say either a bedded deer or deer approaching with is head low to the ground.

Copied your pic and ran through zoombrowser to lighten it, then zoomed in on the pic. You've got two deer in the background (to the right). One is bedded and facing the camera, the other (behind it) is standing and is looking to the side (you see only the reflection of one eye).
