Cleaned up grandfather's gun... - 10/18/15 12:51 PM
Have a Nilgai hunt opening rifle weekend. Can also shoot unlimited does and cull bucks and obviously hogs.
Was concerned my .308 was a little light, though I'm sure some of you snipers could kill a Nilgai bull with it. I inherited a 700 built in the 60s from my grandfather, but it was horribly gummed up. Trigger engaged when you took safety off because it stayed permanently depressed. Guy at the gun shop said it was a really well built gun from when Remington used to be one of the very best guns on the planet and it should perform flawlessly with a little work.
Spent some money on a good, thorough cleaning, put a new scope on, and this little bird is ready to sing...
7mm mag - just gotta sight it in.
