I forgot the dog.

They also have some interesting travel mates in their convoy. "Trouble," for example. He's a chihuahua mix who sports a "service animal" vest and cool goggles for open-air travel. Janet and Paul De Nubilo of Kingman, Arizona, take Trouble with them everywhere they go.

The owners are a local couple, here

Quote:
The convoy included an area couple, Michael and Diana O'Sullivan, who loaded their 1942 half-track onto a trailer and towed it to Washington, D.C. He is driving the half-track, which is equipped with a rubberized track for highway use, and she is towing the trailer behind a pickup.

They estimated the half-track gets 3 miles to the gallon and the truck, with the trailer, gets about 13. Like other volunteer drivers, the O'Sullivans are paying their own expenses. And, like the other volunteers, they're not complaining, but rather enjoying meeting people along the route.

It's nice to see so many people interested enough to restore and display some of these old work horses. And, mighty fine pics of them, DC!

That's just awesome. There was a time when I owned a 1942 GPW wich is the same thing as a Willy's Jeep expect built by ford. All the bolt heads had Ford on them!!!

Third one down is a varient of the last military vehicle I drove. That one seems to be a shop van, we were an AG Det., ours had a pair of TAACS computers in the back.
