Well, I gave him his wish. 4 hours so far and he hasn't quit. Going to break out the 90# hammer after lunch.

Will be along day for him.

Bent over like that his back is going to be hurting this evening. Looks like you need to teach him the proper form. Looks like fun!

Your are welcome to come show him your wealth of knowledge on that subject. I am sure he won't mind the help. Showed him once, he will learn the hard way.

Twenty years ago I had to rent one to get postholes for the porches. I got all I want of those things.

I always run the Jack hammer when doing that, or when we gotta punch a hole through a deck to replace a skimmer. Although usually just a hammer drill when going through the deck up

Ever run one after a night of drinking in 100 heat? It will cure one real fast after losing your stomach.

He made it. 10 hour day, 30 for lunch and water breaks whenever he needed.

Never quit, never complained. Hitting it hard again at 7 am. He gets to run the backhoe with the AC on. He earned it

Hey GUTIT. You guys in the pool business or just a general contractor?

We do it all. Have built about a dozen pools.

Nothing we can't do. Truly enjoy the construction business. Hell, I quit school because of recess.

I should have called you. Blue Haven had the pool this far along pretty damn fast, but the spray decking and plaster has been delayed quite a bit. My wife calling them daily isn't helping and I'm about ready to take a jack hammer to it.

Pulling up 90-110# for a few hrs is a workout. I have a large pneumatic and it is a beast on a 185 compressor, also have an electric bosch, it will still give you numb arms, but not quite as heavy.

Good hand you have there Kent if he ran that thing all day up

Looks like a Hitachi Demo Hammer.

Get him a Hitachi Jack Hammer and he can knock that out in half the time

Re: New man said " I like running a jackhammer" - 09/19/15 01:31 PM

I did some of that when I was young. Many years ago now. Me and Juan had the task of boring thru a few manhole walls once, about waist high with a 90lb pneumatic, big enough for a 3x3 12" duct run. Man, it was SO LOUD IN THERE! Part of the reason I have tinnitus and hearing loss today, I reckon. And I see your worker must have got dressed in a hurry. His pant legs are still stuck in his boots.

Sounds like he wants to prove himself. Hope he has tomorrow off to recover. If he does, send him to Cast. grin

I made that same mistake as a younger man GUTIT. It didnt take long for me to figure out that 90 lb hammer will wear you smooth out, then you learn how to run it and not let it run you. Sounds like you may have a good hand sir up
