First time back after setting cams out..

First time back after setting cams out.. - 09/02/15 01:16 AM

I made it to the lease this last weekend and am very pleased with what I see so far even though the cows knocked one camera off the tree, turned one camera away from feeder and knocked another camera over so didn't have a lot of real recent pics. Cams show some of the bucks already rubbed out and some still in velvet.

Looking really good. Those are some of the best pics I've seen on yalls place overall.
Yall are going to have a great season. A lot of 10's!

Yup. I didn't have a 10 in my area until last season. None in 2012 or 13. Can't wait to see hard horned pics and get better pics for aging.

He was a little smaller last year. Almost identical shape though

Good reason to cull him and he looks like he is at least 4.5.

The two bucks on 8/19 & 8/22 look good but can't tell age from those but prob at least 4.5 and prob 5.5. That long time 10 is gonna be a stud, looks to be 3.5-4.5. Keep an eye on him.

Not that I know of but I am sure some are there.

My brother and I will be down this next weekend to finish up bow blinds and get his area ready.

I like the crab claw as well. I thought he was 3 last year but looks 3 in these pics. Hope to have some better pics next go around. I had a bigger 6 on cam the first year in 2012 and only get one buck on the lease so I doubt he will get my tag grin

I love his crab claws. Waiting for some better pics to see about age. He is either 3 or 4 this year. One guy thought he was 2 last season and I kind of had him at 3. He is nice for our area and will probably get shot either way. If we feel he is 3 then we will try our best to get everyone on board to let him go another year.

However we had a very nice 3yo last season that we all thought would be awesome this year and someone still shot him. Crappy part is he made 2 bad shots and we didn't find him after we found where he bedded down but lost the blood trail.

I would be highly surprised if that crab claw is older than 3.5. He doesn't have any callouses on his knees and his neck meets his brisket too high. Summer deer are tough to age but I see a pretty text book 3.5. Hope they let him walk, he has some real potential.
