FINALLY GOT HIM BACK!! 1st S TX Buck

Well after almost a year and a half, I finally got him back. He did not turn out like I hoped and not exactly what I asked for but I am thankful for him being back in my possession.

He aged at 7.5 and scored 134. He was a perfect management buck from the Callahan ranch in South Texas.

Ag Hunter - I am right there with you. He is a trophy to me. Especially being as old as he was. It was hard to believe some of the deer that the ranch considered management.

I think it is a hell of a buck and great mount However you had wanted it done, only you will know the difference, frustrating I know, have had a couple Taxidermist to that as well. Looks great in any case.

Good problem to have when they look as big or bigger mounted than on film. Nice buck!

I asked for semi sneak looking more out than upright (not sure what you call that form). I also specifically asked that his ears to NOT be on full alert. I Can't really explain all of the imperfections he has besides visible stitching and hair falling out everywhere. Lets just say I will be using a different taxidermist next time.

Still a nice deer. If you ever want to get him remounted all you need is a cape. I have an axis that a taxidermist butchered and I plan to to that some day.

Probably an offset form.

Sucks about the issues but as was stated you can always use another cape and have it redone. I understand waiting all that time and it not being what you wanted.
