I don't shoot young bucks just to shoot. If I need meat, then I shoot does. That's just me though. I like big antlers and you can't get big antlers if you shoot them while they have little antlers.
Actually, you can. If you have plenty of deer, shooting yearling bucks for venison means you've allowed an older buck to get even older. ARs were necessary in certain counties because hunting pressure was so high that almost no bucks were surviving past yearling age.
